She sat on the floor near his piano as he played out one symphony after another.
"Chris?" she asked softly.
The music sped up.
"I'm sorry."
Bang
Her heart skipped a beat at the sound.
Chris had slammed his head on the piano, his arms covering his head.
"CHRIS!" she got up and sat beside him on the piano trying to hold his shaking form.
And then he stopped.
Head slowly rose, arms freed themselves from her embrace.
And he continued to play.
"Chris."
Brief pause.
"Amy."
The stage was set.
Lines were not rehearsed.
"Stop telling your heart it's a crime to fall in love again."
Then the piano stopped again.
"The lyrics."
His voice was cracked and forced. He avoided her glance, "What are the lyrics again?"
Amy looked down,
"She fiddled with his heart strings,
strummed the red violin,
snapped the string in two
now he won't love again."
He pressed a key on the piano, "No. All wrong. It's not heart breaking enough."
"It's raining." Amy spoke out.
Chris turned to her and she caught his eye. She saw his irises were red and he quickly looked away again.
"Let's take a break for now."
strummed the red violin
"STOP."
The red violin.....
Hung it out to dry
left a skeleton behind
Now all he does is cry
"I'll electric tape your mouth shut I swear I will." Amy grabbed his hands and in a loss of balance they both fell to the side.
She lay on top of him, with his arms pinned to the side.
Can the skeleton learn to love again?
"I told you to shut up Chris." She rolled off of him and lay on the floor, staring at the ceiling.
"You know what I just realized?" Chris stated.
"What, pray tell?"
"It's not the piano's fault. The lyrics are just stupid."
"You're stupid."
"I try."
She looked his way to see a big grin pasted on his face.

I know how you feel right now,
